Nicki Bush, PhD

Dr. Nicole (Nicki) Bush is the Director of IDHP, the Lisa and John Pritzker Distinguished Professor of Developmental and Behavioral Health, jointly appointed as Full Professor in the Departments of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences and of Pediatrics, and the Director (Division Chief) of the Division of Developmental Medicine. Amanda Noroña-Zhou, PhD

Dr. Noroña-Zhou is the Assistant Director of IDHP, a licensed clinical psychologist, as well as a researcher, science communicator, and policy advocate in the Center for Health and Community. Allie Sullivan, PhD

Dr. Alexandra (Allie) Sullivan is a postdoctoral fellow in IDHP. She studies the biological embedding of stress and how positive parenting can protect children from the physical and psychiatric problems associated with early adversity exposure both within and across generations. Kayla Karvonen, MD

Dr. Kayla Karvonen is a neonatal-perinatal fellow at UCSF, chair of the Neonatal Justice Collaborative, and a health equity researcher affiliated with IDHP. Her research explores how structural racism impacts preterm infants and their caregivers within and outside of the neonatal intensive care unit. Read more about Dr. Karvonen's work here.

 

Shaikh Ahmad, PhD

Dr. Shaikh Ahmad is a postdoctoral fellow affiliated with IDHP. His research has focused on risk and protective factors related to child and adolescent mental health, self-harm, and mental health stigma. Danielle Roubinov, PhD

Dr. Roubinov is an affiliated researcher with IDHP. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at UNC and the director of the Child and Adolescent Mood and Anxiety Disorders Program (CHAAMP). In her program of research, Dr. Roubinov conducts studies to understand how early experiences of stress and trauma shape children’s development and well-being, and the factors that can help promote positive adjustment even in the context of adversity. Laebah Hamid, BA

Laebah is a research assistant for the Intergenerational Developmental Health Program (IDHP) and the Bush Lab under the mentorship of Drs. Amanda Noroña-Zhou and Nicki Bush. Laebah is currently an MPH candidate at the Yale School of Public Health studying Social & Behavioral Sciences with a specialty in Maternal & Child Health.
